Fall Mini Session at Chase Farm with the H Family

Once again the rain had me biting my fingernails all morning last Saturday! I was checking the radar every 5 minutes before the H Family's 3pm session, and right on cue the clouds started to roll away right as they pulled into the parking lot! The foliage is just starting to change at Chase Farm, and we walked over to an idyllic spot with a field, trees, and a view of the horses to start the session. Ella and her brothers kept me entertained with their explorations and killer jokes. What a sweet family session! I hope you love your sneak peek!

Spooky Halloween Session

Dragons, Queens, and Witches, oh my! I am pretty sure not many kiddos can pull off this many outfits in an hour photo session, but Juliet sure can! She literally changed character from one moment to the next and seemed to embody each costume she stepped into. We had so much fun running through our yards to find the perfect backdrops. I definitely predict more themed sessions in the future. If you have any ideas out there let me know!

Rocky Point Sunset Family Session

Patience paid off for the L Family last week at Rocky Point Park. This fall has been incredibly rainy so far, and we had to reschedule not once, not twice but three times! Thankfully we ended up with a gorgeous and warm evening on the bay at Rocky Point. Brady had a blast running in the fields and climbing on my wooden crate. Mom and Dad enjoyed chasing and playing with him as the sun went down. Then we headed down to the beach as the sky started turning pastel colors. Brady quickly became a fan of throwing rocks in the water, blowing bubbles, and walking along through the sand. I think we definitely captured both his energetic and super sweet sides. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite images from the session!

Isabella's Senior Session at Blithewold

The last time I visited the grounds of Blithewold for a wedding I remembered it being breathtaking, but I didn't really get a chance to explore. Luckily Isabella was prepared and had scouted out the gardens before her senior session. She knew all the best spots to emphasize her outfits and make her senior portraits truly unique! Looking back over her photos, it seems like we drove to ten different locations. I also love how her expressions seemed to reflect the scenery around her. Here are just a few of my favorite images!

Sunflower Shoots and Surprises!

Hello and welcome back to Sail Away Photography!  This session post is a few weeks late, but it is for good reason! I had to hold off until the news was revealed... and it was so hard to keep it a secret! Claribel asked me to take her annual family pictures in a local sunflower field which we have done for the past three years in late summer.  Although we ended up choosing a different farm this time, the flowers did not disappoint. We started with portraits of the girls and their baby brother who was in serious model mode.  Towards the end of the session, Claribel pulled me aside to whisper in my ear, "I'm pregnant!"  I almost yelled congratulations immediately, but then she continued, "the girls don't know about it, I was hoping you could capture their reactions as we tell them." Claribel and Darren took them down one of the rows of flowers and as they started walking towards me, the news was revealed! It was such a special and beautiful moment! Being a photographer is one of the best jobs in the world! Hope you enjoy these sweet images.    :)

Nolan's Baseball Newborn Session

Newborn Nolan's photo session was a home run!  To start out, it was a gorgeous summer day and we were able to go outside to take family pictures. Then we transitioned to the posed shots, and I loved that we captured the family's love of baseball! Naturally we incorporated Nolan's oversized glove chair as well as his signed Nolan Ryan jersey! He even woke up and I was able to capture some of my favorite wide eyed shots as well as some stellar smiles. Little Nolan knocked it out of the park during his session.  He's got a big glove to fill but I am confident that Nolan will take after his namesake one day!
